Rico Kurniawan, a Lecturer in Biostatistics and Health Informatics at the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia, is a dedicated health informatics specialist bridging the gap between IT development and healthcare applications. He holds significant experience in developing and refining health-related information systems as he served as a Technical Assistant for the MCA-Indonesia project focused on online system development and maintenance of sentinel sites monitoring maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition from 2016 to 2018. His work on health information systems includes serving as a Data Manager for several national health surveys and evaluations, such as the HIV Self-Testing Implementation Research Evaluation by PATH and the Integrated Biological and Behavioral Survey by the Ministry of Health RI – Global Fund. Dr. Kurniawan has also consulted on IT projects for the Indonesian National Population and Family Planning Agency, where he developed an Android-based family data collection system. His expertise in the technical development of healthcare information systems extends to creating drug management and regulatory information systems across several healthcare facilities. Dr. Kurniawan continues to focus on the innovative use of IT to enhance healthcare delivery and reporting, advocating for scalable and efficient technological solutions in the health sector.
